I called my friend who wanted me to buy his K-Horns and told him I wanted to keep my four La Scala for my two channel, I decided it would be a step down with me running stacked La Scalas! Am I nuts? So anyone know of a sterio guy up here who wants K-Horns let me know!

I have been using stacked La Scala speakers for my two channel for several years, and yesterday my friend told me he was going to get rid of his Klipshehorns so I decided to sell my LSs and do the deed! Up here in Alaska it did not take long to find the takers for the LS. Should be nice to hear the differance!

Now I have been kicking around the idea to mount the two old woofers into a box for my bass guitar, has anyone ever done this? Anyone have any ideas on proper dimensions for the box?

I got a pair of Crites's woffers and am going to put them in one of my pair of La Scalas. I have read that some are grinding off the excess off of the speaker, and I want to ask them how much did they take off. I am going to use a flat bastard. If you did it would you talk about it a little, or if you know who went this way could you point me in their enlightned way? Thanx much!

That was a great link to that Jazz page, I am going to go back and check out the other things on it, the story I related is from the ken burns film, poorly remembered by me, any way I hear it i love it. That same night that I posted that I was setting my alarm for the next morning and when I turned it on to do that Marian McPartland show piano jazz was just ending and the guest was George Wein and he was talking about the song with Marian, I thought what a great sign to go to sleep to I will probably dream about being there. On a side note I heard about a cbs show from the ken burns dvd also and found it, the hour special called The sound of Jazz, have you checked it out? There is a BUT LOAD of performers in the hour, the lighting, camera work etc is not that great, but, it is so cool to see some of the people on stage. I can't get the hang of this new forum, I usually type on word and have it spell check it then paste it here, I cannot figure out how or why one can't on the new forum, and I have not posted on the new forum, so forgive me while I wax unpoetic and unspellled. I love this cd and let me see if I have the story right about that cut by Paul Gonsalves. The count just finished a set, and the crowd was dead. Well this pissed off the drummer, who started beating the drums like a mad man, a total psyco, well the guys in the band heard this and jumped on the jazz train, as it got up to speed there was a blond bombshell in the audiance who could not contain her joy any more and started dancing in the isle. Well the band saw this and started to see how long they could take her, that was when Paul Gonsalves jumped in and played his historic solo. By the time his solo was over the audiance was as nuts as the band and the officials wanted the band to stop playing fearing a riot, but the band members ignored the gestures of the cops and almost 15 minutes later Duke Ellington was back in the catbird seat of jazz. If any one can tell me how to post with spell checked verbage it will be greatly appreciated

I came abord tonight to see if anyone else has checked out this DVD. I came across this here thread and thought I would throw my hat in. This DVD called " The sound of Jazz" and I quote " This DVD features a truly original and unique broadxast from CBS Dtudio 58 in New York on December 8 1957 hosted by John Crosby. This is sensuous jazz like the curves of a 57 chevy! My favorite part is when Billy Holiday gets on stage!!!

So on top of being wrong about the pictures actual function, I now have to endure the pun too? Yes it does not bail the deer (or white tailed rats, as we call them) but it spreads their crap back into the garden into the place where they mowed your cabbage, asparagus and tomatoes last summer! While we are at it lets talk about worthless trucks and their popularityUnless you are hauling a load of deer crap, or forty bales of hay for the poor little bambi , or three quarters of a ton of gravel, you dont need a truck. Most people drive around in trucks cramped into the one bench seat, (I know that has changed with cabs that replicate a car with seats plural and a stereo to play your Willie nelson on the BOSE speakers it came with) with nothing in the wasted back but the trash you cant fit into the front which is not there when you get to work, it is all over the roads you took to work. So unless you are putting your La Scalas into your pickup truck with a fork lift or a crane, you dont need a pick up truck, but a van, on the other hand will safely transport your speakers and you will not have to stop when it starts snowing, raining. I can put my La Scala in the van and the manly stingray and a power converter and fill up four little acres of rural Alaska with real loud heritage. There is always a bedroll in the back, suitable for sleeping in -40 if need be, so packing a cooler, and the .454 for predators and the weekend is set. Keep your pick up trucks.
