wallst32
I would like to move my DD-5.1 and Promedia 5.1s off my computer where they aren't getting used often enough right now, and into the living room with an HDTV and DVD player. Audio out on both the TV and DVD are the white and red RCA plugs. Using this connection, will I be able to get dolby and dts surround sound when connected to the DD5.1/Promedias, or would I be limited to 2 channel stereo sound? Currently, I have an analog TV and CD player attached to the DD-5.1 using RCA plugs, but these are stereo only. I then have a Soundlbaster Audigy2 connected to the digital port. Thanks. justin_tx_16
from TV use the red and white cables, from the DVD player use the optical. Only DVD's with DTS/DD encoding will play out as DTS/DD.
wallst32
Justin - Thanks for the reply. Will the HDTV programs play in stereo or surround with the TV connected to the DD-5.1 via the RCA plugs?
Jay481985
i believe that they will pla virtual surround if left in prologic as when i hooked up my tv to my dd5.1 it had a virtual surround on prologic. if you want stereo then set the dd5.1 on stereo
