Tommy - SACD

All tricked up with 5.1 although I just use 2-channel. DSD also for what it's worth. Remastered and remixed by Pete Townshend. It may be the best recorded rock SACD I own. I couldn't believe my ears when I first put it on. It rivals Steely Dan's "Gaucho." Includes bonus tracks, out-takes and demos.

I don't think it's all that great, check out Bowie's Ziggy Stardust(SACD), Grateful Dead, workingmas Dead (DVD-A), Eagles, Hell Freezes Over(DVD-A), Fleetwood Mac Rumors(DVD-A), 6.gif3.gif9.gif12.gif

Smilin,

I own about 40 SACDs. This one is great IMO. I've never even heard DVD-A. The Who is not known for great recordings which is why this was such a nice suprise. The guitar on "Pinball Wizard" is amazing.

BTW - Maybe it's because I'm not using a sub when listening. If you're looking for bass punch, maybe some others will beat it. I'm talking overall clarity.

Hey, it's great to know I'm not the only GEEZER here, Seadog! I had a 'Tommy' 8-track in High School, too! 2.gif It was a two-tape album.

Thanks for sharing, Gary! I'll have to go grab that one myself and give a listen!10.gif

I always liked 'Quadraphenia', too (another two-tape 8-Track set I had)!
