Thanks, Paul. Lots of interesting reading. I found the literature on the JBL Hartsfield speaker intriguing. It's a massive speaker - ~ 100 lbs heavier than the Klipschorn. Has anybody on the forum been lucky enough to audition a working version? I wonder what it sounds like?

If I remember correctly, I heard a modern version of this at the second Limafest. I didn't like it at all, yeccch! On the other hand, there were a lot of people in the room raving about it.

This is what I posted here right after the audio show:

"The corner Hartsfield speakers had shrill treble and overpowering (in a bad sense) bass. I know Mike liked them a lot and there was a handout with praiseful blurbs from audiophile reviewers, but not only did I find them inferior in every regard to my Klipschorns, they were probably the least pleasing speakers I heard at the show. Obviously not everyone would agree with me, but I was downright eager to leave the room."
