DA1984
At 42lbs and with dimensions of 9 x 26 x 12 the RC-7 can be a formidable foe. Anyone have any ideas about how to mount it above the TV when the TV sits 24" from the wall? Is this a problem for other poeple?
garymd
Someone makes shelf that attaches to the top of your tv. I've seen them in Tweeters and they seem to work very well, even with heavy speakers. They're adjustable so you can angle the speaker toward the listening position.
DA1984
Is that the Sanus one? Seems kinda cheap. I have their stands for the RSX-5s and they are absolute junk, I dont know why klipsch would have recommended to me, as they did. Any other suggestions? garymd
I have no idea. I just remember seeing one in the store that looked pretty decent. I'm sure there's more than 1 company that makes them. Just an idea. I'm sure a sturdy shelf would work just fine also.

Speedball
"Wall standards" are the name of them if I'm not mistaken. Two vertical metal strips with slots and very strong and different length brackets up to 24",maybe more that hang off them. Will easily support that load if vertical strips are attached to the studs or "togglers" are used - not "toggle bolts". Available at local hardware or lumber home stores in the shelving dept. I've seen them in black or white. I just hung my receiver dvd player and cd player(stacked) with no problem. Sorry I don't live nearby I would show you. ....Pat
Speedball
....."slowJoe" did a real good job on his if you want it on the TV. Heck you could even stain it to match something. ........Pat
DA1984
How did you make the wall standards look non-ghetto? Got a pic? Anyway to Slowjoe, very creative, looks good, but Im getting the Sony Grand Wega Rear-P LCD which is very steep down the back, so I dont think it would work, but further creative ideas would be appriciated. Thanks all so far.
DA1984
What about this, what ya all think?
Speedball
re: wall standards For the non-ghetto version make sure the standards are completely hidden behind the equipment and TV. Don't use the flat cheaper looking brackets (support arms). Black is also preferable to brushed aluminum finish or white, use your own judgement with surrounding colors. All the low voltage wires run through the rear wall into a bdrm. closet then return to the TV. No digital or I would send a pic. very clean look. Custom cabinetmaker could also be of some assistance for the $$. ...........Pat
DA1984
Well fourtunately I know a guy who has been making cabinets about 30 years know and he would be able to do it for materials cost. Did you look at that Peerless Mount I attached to my last message, what do u think?
ssh
I hung three RC7s with Omnimounts. They are adjustable in all directions. SSH
Speedball
1984, That looks nice and strong and would probably be out of sight as well. A person would want to make sure it is securely attached then it should hold a tremendous amount of weight. I too am lucky enough to have a cabinetmaker buddy that is very helpful. Goodluck......... ...Pat
DA1984
Peerless says that it holds up to 100lbs, my only real concern is rattling since it is metal. ssh, which omnimounts did you use, how, got a pic?
slowjoe24
Thanks.................I do get jumpy when my son plays in the living room! It's pretty secure with the rubber feet I put on the bottom of the shelf. Good Luck with your decision, Joe
ssh
No pic, but they were 60 lb rated, black, & attached under the speaker. I still have one hanging on a back wall. I use it to hang the dry cleaning when I get home. If you're interested, email me. The site is www.omnimount.com. SSH
