Zannekin
hello, where can we found this speakers???? can we replace with K77??? Same impedance??? thank's, Zan
jerohm
I have a perfectly good K-76-K from a Quartet that I would be willing to part with (actually two, but I want to keep one); I built centers out of a set of Quartets and replaced the tweeters with K-75-K's to match my Fortes. PM/email me and I am sure we can work something out. I assume you know that the diaphragms are available/replaceable right? BTW, I am reasonably sure they are also still available from Klipsch. Zannekin
ok, but i am looking for 1 paire, not just one!!! Zan
jerohm
This is the problem with that. When I bought the K-75-K's, one of the diaphragms needed to be replaced, so I took one from one of the K-76-K's ... so actually I have one working K-76-K and one non-working one. I was going to keep the non-working one and swap back the diaphragm (in the K-75-K) if I ever decided the need to (however unlikely that would be). If you want BOTH magnet/horn assemblies(minus the working diaphragm - I would KEEP it as a spare), we could probably work that out too. The diaphragms for the K-72,K-76,K-75,K-79,... are all the same and show up on eBay for about $45/pair. Then you would have NEW diaphragms from the same circa. J.4knee
No you should not use a K-77-? as a replacement its way too hot for a Heresy II. It is way to efficient when compared to the K-76-? That is the same tweeter used in the original Heresy and the Klipschorn/Belle Klipsch/La Scala/Cornwall. The effect would, IMO, be a very bright sound and you would have to modify the crossover to step it down a few dB.
BEC
If you have K-76s that are not working, they likely just need new diaphragms. If that is the problem, I can help you with that. Bob Crites bobcrites@centurytel.net
