kuisis
I just got two bugle boy 12ax7 tubes and was wondering which sockets are for the extra and tuner inputs and which two are for the phono? I can't remember and wanted to try out these tubes everyone seems to love. Also has anyone ever heard of using Stabilant 22A on the electrical connections of your system. It's some sort of electrical contact enhanser?
NOSValves
When looking at the amp from the front the 2 tubes on the right are the preamp tubes that you want to replace. Let us know what you think after you give them a listen. Craig
kuisis
Thanks Craig. I'll post later tonight. I have telefunkens now should I expect much difference?

NOSValves
Yup you should hear some difference. I've never tried BB in a Scott before so hard to say what the difference will be. Craig

kuisis
Just finished listening to the mosaic grant green version of Moon River on the Scott with the bugle boys. There was a difference between the telefunkens and the bb's. It seems to me that the bb's were more clear than the telefunkens. The cybals sounded more crisp and the guitar sounded clearer. I wonder if anyone else noticed a clearer more crisp sound with bugle boy tubes as compared to telefunkens ? I'm going to listen more to see if it occurs on other recordings.
