Using Cornwalls in HT

My two channel system for music is a B&K ST-140 amp with a Carver CT-17 pre-amp/tuner driving a pair of 1981 Cornwalls.

I just got a Denon AVR-1804 AV surround receiver and a Klipsch SC-1 center channel speaker. I set up the system using a pair of Paradigm book shelf speakers for the front channels. After watching a couple of DVD's I thought the sound would be a WHOLE lot better if I could use the Cornwalls for the front channels, but I still want to be able to drive them with the B&K for music. Since the two systems are never on at the same time, I connected a second set of speaker wires from the Denon to the Cornwalls. The HT sounds MUCH MUCH better!

My question is: am I doing any harm with this setup, i.e. having the Cornwalls connected to two different amps? Thanks.

What?!

Use the PRE-OUT from the HT to the preamp, and 1 set of wires ONLY to the mains. Disconnect the HT output wire to the mains, which will now run off the stereo gear ONLY.

That way, whether 6-channel or stereo, ONE SET OF WIRES.

For stereo, the 6-channel is OFF.

That's what I do.
