leok
I just noticed a new? Marantz integrated amp, the "PM-7200." It appears it can be operated in Class-A mode with 25 Watt/ch capability. amusicdirect.com price of $500 is 1/3 the cost of competing ss class-As, Sugden and Music Hall Mambo. It's worth considering for those who want the no-crossover and high bias advantages of Class-A (not harsh, with good low end detail) , but don't want to mess w/ tubes. Looks like a good match for Klipsch speakers. Leo
fini
Looks interesting! Might be an option for a guy like me...I would be interested to hear some opinions on this, and get a chance at a listen...
lynnm
That's a little hard to predict as an amp can operate in Class A and sound like hell with a given pair of speakers.Class of operation is only one factor in determining how an amp will sound. In the final analysis the only reliable way to determine how an amp will sound with a pair of speakers is to audition it.
