PB10ISD vs PB12ISD

Im not sure if this helps you, but this is what i got from ron

95% of our customers don't use the full crossover and high/low level inputs

on the PB1-ISD (since they have Dolby Digital receivers to take care of bass

management) so we kept those features off the PB10-ISD and just focused on

making it the best performing subwoofer for $400, not the most feature laden

(with stuff that'll just be disabled typically).

These are two different subs for sure. The PB1-ISD has a 12" woofer, much

larger vent (the difference between 3" and 4" is pretty substantial), and a

larger cabinet with a somewhat more sophisticated cabinet finish (both look

great). The styling is much different too, the bottom firing design appeals

to some the grill won't.

In the end it's about performance. These two subs will sound very very

similar side by side, with very similar depth and accuracy... up to a point.

The PB1-ISD will be able to fill up larger rooms without hitting its limits.

So if you want the most performance available you can rest assured the $400

PB10-ISD and the $600 PB1-ISD (soon to be called the PB12-ISD) are both well

worth their prices.

Whether you need or want the added output of a PB1-ISD will be driven by

personal taste in how loud you go, and your room size.

Is there any reason why the freq response of the 10 goes lower than the 12??? I'm assuming the 12 has higher output. But still, it seems weird that the bigger driver bigger cabinet sub would be tuned higher than a smaller driver smaller cabinet sub.

It doesn't. According to SVS the response curve is very similar as far as extension around and below 20 Hz. There's just slightly higher output from the 12.

Here's the 10:
