GTecX Posted July 31, 2001 Share Posted July 31, 2001 I plan on using Monster Cable XP speaker wires as a replacement of the stock wires. When I went to Circuit City to check it out, the Monster Cable XP wire wouldn't fit through the hole of RadioShack's 274-868 plug. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? lhsdrum01 Posted August 1, 2001 Share Posted August 1, 2001 yeah, i had the same problem. make sure you take off the spring thingy, you don't need it. and then strip a couple inches of the outside off the wires, and then recover them with electrical tape. it will be much thinner and the electrical tape will protect them just fine. DBvader Posted August 13, 2001 Share Posted August 13, 2001 yeah i tihnk that i was the firt person to mod my cable, like a year and a half ago for my speaks (i could be wrong) what i did is just take off all that superfluos radio crap stuff and solder the wires to the respective ends...then wrap the with electrical wire so they areinsulated...there you go...all done. vader ------------------ BRING ON THE POWER!
