MagicMtnDan
Pat Metheny's music is sublime. And my personal favorite is this one:
Hardhitter
When I was first introduced to Pat Metheny, I was very high! Very High! Durning that same period, I was introduced to Jean Luc Ponte. Wow! I didn't know that you could do those kind of things with an electric violin! Check out his older stuff, very 70's, great electric jazz. I still listen to it, but I don't listen to my Pat Metheny any more. I am going to dig out my old vinyl and give it another listen! Thanks for reminding me! Maybe I will find an old Doobie with it? I mean an old Doobie brothers album!
garymd
Speaking of Herbie Hancock, I saw him doing an infomercial a while back for BOSE. He's put on a few pounds but still played Watermelon Man like it was 1964. His first few LPs were great. It's a crime what he put out later on. Waste of amazing talent IMHO. If you get a chance, watch him on the 1984 Blue Note Reunion Concert DVD.
