Crazy Clem
Hi First time posting. Saw a nice set of kg4 parts for sale on evilbay and was wondering if anybody has the build plans/schematics to box them in? I have a ton of wood as well as plywood in the garage (build cabinets as a hobby) and any info as to which I should use for the good tone, what insulation if any..etc. Thanks in advance Clem
Deang
Schematic to the crossover attached. I would use a good quality 7-ply Baltic Birch. Chances are, Klipsch didn't stuff these with anything -- as is their custom. You might add a nice touch by bracing the side walls of the cabinets. 24.25" x 15.75" x 10.75" KG-41.pdf
christjared
Klipsch did line these speakers with some form of foam. It is only located on the sides of the boxes.
Champagne taste beer budget
I second that there is foam on the sides, have had mine opened up a couple times. Dean, I realize you have limited experience with the KG4's, but how much of an effect would you think rebuilding the crossovers would make. I printed out the schematic since I have a pair, I figure with only 6 components it might be a good place for me to try and do some DIY mods with upgraded parts, but if it's not going to make an audible change, I wouldn't bother. Any advice is appreciated.
