psg
I might be in the market for a bigger house. One that we're looking at has a room in the basement with dimensions of 12' x 26'. The 12' isn't deep enough for Klischorns along the 12' wall, is it? If I had to build a wall to shorten the room, what size should it be to match the 12' short wall? psg
It's okay folks. It simple forum search for "room size" turns up a wealth of information. I see there's a ratio to keep, and the 8' ceiling won't help either.
lynnm
My Khorns are in a room 13 X 26 X 9 and sound lovely. I will shortly rearrange things to put them about 20 feet apart along the long wall. Don't get hung up on theoretical optimums.
psg
Glad to hear that! Thanks for posting! Of course, it could take years to get a pair of Klipschorns in these parts, but that's another problem! At least I know I could use 'em! garymd
The long wall is usually best but they sound good on the short wall too. My room is 13x25 and due to room constraints, they're on the short wall and sound great. With decent equipment and a pair of corners, it's hard to make khorns sound bad. I could do that until the kids were bigger and then spread out again! I guess moving will imply a hunt for KHorns! I could always use my La Scala's as back surrounds. Colin
my room was 14 x 17 and the short wall was great, though shallow, I've heard them along the long wall and the image and performance was great + incredibly wide, but still just as shallow, next room may also be along the wide wall...
