t-man
I've been away for a while - out of town. My dad needs an amp to drive his new SVS Passive sub. We couldn't get my old Kenwood to work, as it was too underpowered at only about 50 watts. Does anybody have an old stereo, pro-logic, or mono amp/receiver laying around that they want to sell for cheap? It has to have about 100 watts per channel or so, and only one channel need be working. Not too concerned about anything else at this time. It should be able to handle down to a 4 ohm load. Can you help? I'm really scared about going the ebay route on this one, since it's for my dad, and I won't be able to help him much. t-man
Ended up picking up a Marantz MA6100 monoblock. It put out 180 Watts at 4 ohms, and is only 3.5 inches wide, so it will fit next to the receiver in the TV cabinet. I hope this works out for him. Sounds like the perfect ticket, and all for only $175 brand new. Those monoblocks sure are slick, and versatile! It should rock that SVS.
