ATTN JAZZ VINYL FANS:This is a very nice deal on a very good and pretty rare record @ $7.99!

Teddy had two dates with Prestige in 1967. Weinstock was recording another unsung L.A. sax man, Sonny Criss at the same time. Edwards once told me that he flew in to New Jersey, went straight to the session and cut both records in a few hours and then flew straight back to L.A. the next day. Here is the companion record (and the more satisfying of the two dates):

Here is another record that is REALLY a Teddy Edwards date, but it was released with Joe Castro as the leader on Atlantic Records--this was Edwards working quartet in 1959- 60.

You can also hear this band on an obscure Metro Jazz record that has a live Sonny Rollins set on one side and live Teddy Edwards set on the other and of course on the classic Pacific Jazz LP "Sunset Eyes." The MetroJazz LP turns up on ebay a few times every year and ins't a real expensive record considering its rarity--I see them sell for $30-$50--the Edwards cuts blow the Rollins cuts CLEAN AWAY on the record, and that's saying something! "Sunset Eyes" is equally rare and can fetch over $100 in NM shape on the right day, but was released on CD a few years ago and while out of print, these CDs sell for about $10 on ebay when you see them.
