Kevmosmith
Hi all, I am replacing the capacitors in AA "oil" crossovers. I think I am using Hovland musicaps for the two 2 uf capacitors, but would like to hear your thoughts/recommendations/experiences on the 13uf capacitor before deciding - the prices on the 13 uf capacitors get a little steep. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays. Kevin
Tom Mobley
You might try paralleling a 10 and a 3uf Solen, or two 6.2uf. about $5 at parts express. Solen actually does have exact 13s, but I don't see them with a quick search at any of the usual vendors. I see them on the Solen site though. www.solen.ca/caps notive that's not solen.com, they're in Canada. Some US vendor probably does have them if you dig around a little. Al Klappenberger
Kevin, The 13 uF is the LEAST critical cap for upgrades. I suggest two 6.8 uF FasCaps in parallel. Dont worry about the fact that the total is a bit high at 13.6 uF. The value is not extremely critical. Al K.
lovemyhorns
I got 12+1 uF for the 13, but have not installed them yet...
