Parrot Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 The seller wasn't dealing with any of us penny-pinchers on this auction: $2550. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=61378&item=5739046323&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Then again the last $1000 of that was a bidding war between two guys with Zero feedback. So the final price may or may not actually be legit. Quote
seti Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Wow and I thought $1200 was alot for me to spend on my Belles. The only way they are leaving my possesion is from my cold dead hands. Quote
Daddy Dee Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 That is definitely a fine looking pair of Belle's. Don't know if the lighter grill cloth was factory or just the result of photography. However, the wood looked the right color. You have to wonder of the seller actually sold these. The bidding between two zero's certainly doesn't look right. Seti: You sound a little like Charlton Heston loving his Belle's. Quote

I had wanted a pair of Belles since I was in high school and I am still excited about owning them. Last night I listened to music till 3am and they were sounding sweet. I'll probably freak when I get my phono preamp this week still haven't heard vinyl on them. Quote
middlecreekguy Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Obviously these guys didn`t used a bidding service which would have saved one of them or both a lot of money. This is the problem with proxy bidding. You are sticking your neck out there just inviting someone to come along and chop it off. Quote
Daddy Dee Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I agree. Most any savvy Ebay buyer will have given up chivalry and taken up sniping. Bidding like this CAN happen occasionally with two zeros. But if the seller also has low feedback, most of the time you can be assured that the item is being shilled. Quote
