justin_tx_16
I was wondering... how is it that the KSW-15 only goes down to 24 Hz at 15 inches and 800 watts and the klipsch promedia 8.5 inch goes down to like 25 Hz and 200 watts... that seems crazy! also, the SCR's look like they could go into a car... is there anyway that i could do this? i would really like to say that i have a klipsch system in my car! ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
dougdrake2
Hmm, interesting. I wonder at what volume they play at those levels, and at what distortion level...do those figures differ a lot? Doug
justin_tx_16
well many ppl have said that they have put their speakers at the max and the sub has never bottomed out. it can get pretty loud, my old promedia system has a 6.5" 160 watt sub and it shakes everything in my two story house. what do you think about the SCR's and then getting kws-10 woofer and put it in a box or something? ------------------ -justin I am an amateur, but if it is professional help you want contact Amy. dougdrake2
Afraid I can't help on the car speaker idea, but I think it's really interesting. Can you find a pair cheap to experiment with? Doug
justin_tx_16
well, i really can not as i am 17 and my parents would not let me unless i could show that is allready works. i want someone else to do it for me and tell me if it sounds good i guess! LoL he he he I know someone was trying to put his ProMedia 4.1's in the car... some serious modding would have to happen but for the SCR's it seems like it would be easy... here is what i would do, put the scr's inplace of my current speakers in the front doors and the back seat dash board. then put some klipsch horns... like the ones in teh quintets in the front dash board, have to do some patching i would think, and then get a box for two 10 inch subs and put two ksw-10's in it, just take them out of thier box. i do not see how this would not work, i would need an amp and probably extra car battery! SOMEONE WITH LOTS OF CASH DO THIS AND TELL US ALL HOW IT WORKS! ------------------ -justin I am an amateur, but if it is professional help you want contact Amy. dougdrake2
I admire your enthusiasm, for sure! I've never built a speaker before, but I've read some posts here about it and I don't think it's as simple as just pulling the woofers from a couple of KSW-10s and putting them in a subwoofer box in your car (plus amplification, of course). The space inside the cabinet plays a big role in how well the sub functions, and ideally it should match the speaker(s). I'm over my head at this point, so I'll step aside and let some real experts pitch in. Anyone? DD
