MasterT
I'd like to connect all my component video sources through my Denon 4802R reciever as i've run out of connections on my TV (only has 2). I've read that some recievers actually degrade picture quality. Is this true of the Denon 4802R? I've tried connecting my Toshiba Hi-Def DirecTV through the Denon and all I got was a scrambled picture. Is this because the reciever's inputs don't support 1080i? Also if I can't use my Denon for this purpose, does anyone know of a good component video splitter that doesn't degrade picture quality?
ct1615
I ran component video directly to my 27 HDTV and through my Yamaha receiver; I saw no difference.
Hunt
I have my HD cable box, Denon 2910 DVD player and PS2 all hooked up to my Denon 2805 via component. It handles the swithching just fine to my Mits. RPTV. I also have my VCR hooked up to the 2805 w/ S-video and it up-converts the signal to component. Despite being advised not to do it this way, I have not been able to appreciate any loss in PQ, and it saved me some connection headaches as well as cable costs. toddvj
The 4802 is fully capable of passing HD. Check your connections, make sure you've got it hooked up right. I have my 4802 hooked up with component switching, and it works just fine.
