I'd like to connect all my component video sources through my Denon 4802R reciever as i've run out of connections on my TV (only has 2). I've read that some recievers actually degrade picture quality. Is this true of the Denon 4802R? I've tried connecting my Toshiba Hi-Def DirecTV through the Denon and all I got was a scrambled picture. Is this because the reciever's inputs don't support 1080i? Also if I can't use my Denon for this purpose, does anyone know of a good component video splitter that doesn't degrade picture quality?

I too agree with RFK. As long as you're careful, you'll never break one of the posts. One of my posts broke when one of my goofy friends yanked on it from the top, so you also have to keep your goofy friends away from them. I also think the RF-5/RF-7 grilles look cooler too. The stand off design adds some style that the newer magnetic ones lack. Micheal Hurd: Thanks for the tip. Where can I find some of this Fusor Extreme adhesive??

OK, well it looks like if you shop around enough, the cheapest deal will save you a grand total of $4.00, maybe $5.00 at the most. If you want the damn thing just go and buy it and quit being such a tight ***!! You'll spend that much money just driving around looking for the best "deal". Sorry to be so blunt, but I just can't stand it when cheap-asses try to save a couple a bucks on something they really want. It's like people who will drive across town to save 2 cents a gallon on gas.

What is the "Chroma Bug" and what effect does it have on picture quality etc.? I've read about it many times but I don't know what it is.

You did not mention how much you'd like to spend on a sub, but my speaker selection is similar to yours and before I upgraded to an RSW-15 I had an RSW-10 and it was a pretty nice little unit. It sounded really good with my combination, especially with music, I just wanted more thump. The price is decent too. By the way, what kind of speakers do you use for the voices inside your head??

Whoah there Pardner, settle down!! It's not a rumour and only part of it is untrue. It wasn't an early run of bad units, all RC-35's SUCK!! I hate mine, and as soon as I get the time to pick up an RC-7 I will release mine from a 10 story building just to have the satisfaction of watching it smash to pieces. I'm not mad at Klipsch though. Of all the great speakers they have made, to begrudge them for releasing this turd would be unfair.

I have some RB-5's and they work well as surrounds. Speaker placement is a little more critical than with say some RS-35's, but at that price it's worth the extra time. They also sound really good with music.

I own an RSW-15 and it really kicks ***!! When I listen to Linkin Park on DVD Audio I'm always afraid that the walls in my living room are going to come crumbling down. I haven't had the privledge of auditioning an SVS sub, but the way the guys here talk about them I sure would like to. I have to agree with RICKB though on the toughness issue. The RSW-15 is a giant square box (it could double as a coffee table) and whenever I have lots of people over I am constantly paranoid that somebody is going nick or scratch the beautiful real wood veneer. The SVS stands upright and takes up way less space. I think in your case the SVS is a better choice.

I just replaced the diaphragm assembly on one of my RF-5 tweeters and it was very easy. After you remove the three nuts it is a tight fit. Just pull it apart carefully. Don't worry too much about screwing it up because if it's blown you can't damage it any further. You replace the entire diaphragm assembly which is the dome and voice coil mounted to a thin plastic plate which also includes the "+" and "-" connection posts. On mine the voice coil separated from the dome for whatever reason. Anyway, I called Klipsch at 1-800-KLIPSCH. Everyone there is very cool and very helpful. They'll answer all your questions and get you going again. Also the diapragms come with detailed instructions so it's a snap. My speakers are still under warranty but the diapragms were only like $22.00 dollars each, so I bought two. One for a back-up if it happens again. Taking your speakers in for warranty work is a hassle and you have to wait a long time. My parts were at my door in 2 days and at $22.00 it's just not worth the hassle for me to take them to the shop. Good Luck!

Itsmyforte, I've got my speakers set to "small" and I've played them at that level many times before and they never sound distorted so I did'nt think I was pushing them that hard but maybe I was. Mr.P, I never noticed it dented before, but it is possible. What you guys say makes sense. I assumed the denting happened after it cracked and the air pressure blowing through distorted the aluminum. I am getting it replaced, I just thought it was strange and wondered if it's happened to anyone else. They are still under warranty.

I was listening to music 2-Channel on my RF-5's the other day at loud levels but by no means with distortion or over-driving my recievers amp. I don't abuse my speakers. Anyway I noticed that one of the woofer cones looked distorted and wrinkled. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the aluminum cone was actually cracked. What's up with that? Has anyone else heard of this problem. I attached a pic. Thought you might want to see. I thought it was really strange.

I did my first diaphragm swap on my RF-5 tweeters. The voice coil separated from the dome. While taking them apart I noticed a brown oily substance which I later found out was Ferrofluid. I can only assume that this fluid is used to dampen the voice coil. Is this correct? What is this fluid made from? Also, from the way I understand it, the fluid is only supposed to be in the magnetic gap. When I took them apart the fluid was all over the place underneath the diaphragm assembly. How much of this fluid loss is acceptable?
