Heresy HBR

Hi Randy welcome to the forum. The HBR is Heresy Birch Raw as in unfinished cabinet for both. The original Heresy uses the K77/K55/K22 drivers, which are rear, mounted and access is from the back of the cabinet. The Heresy II uses front mounted drivers and horns, a different driver/horn set being the K76/K53/K24, the horns are composite vs. metal. HII access in only from the front of the cabinet. The HII is, I believe, a little less efficient but the HF extends to 20 KHZ. I myself can tell little difference in sound other than the Heresy may be a little brighter. The HII HBR cabinet has finish cuts where as the Heresy HBR is cut more like the La Scala showing the exposed plywood edges. Obviously the crossover differs to coincide with the horns/driver combos used

Thanks for the response. I'm trying to put a heritage Klipsch system together on a relatively low budget. Looking at Heresy,Forte, or possibly KG5.5. I 'm in Iowa and a pair of Heresy HBR's are fairly close in distance.

At this point I'm considering an Integra receiver - initially for 2 chanel audio and as more speakers are added surround sound. Do you have any specific advice on receivers I should be considering. Likely try and pick something up on e-bay in the $500 range.

The only Heritage speakers in your list are the Heresy's. The Forte is sometimes referred to as a member of the "Extended Heritage line" but it really is not a "Heritage Line The KG series never were Heritage. Actually the Heritage is not how the Heritage line up was sold, its more of a marketing name. But the only members of the line are the Heresy, Cornwall, La Scala, Belle Klipsch and the vaunted Klipschorn. They are all excellent speakers so enjoy whatever you get.
