mcp Posted February 7, 2005 Share Posted February 7, 2005 ...mistakenly posted this on the technical forum earlier...but I get the feeling that the KG4s are underpowered. There was just something missing...impact and bass definition; seemed lifeless. Today, I turned the Marantz volume dial up to between 12:00 and 1:00 and there it was! Tremendous definition, envelopment, just sounded terrific. Now I wonder how long the Marantz will last driving it this hard. I originally thought this would be a nice combination because I read the KG4 specs on the Klipsch website and it stated 94 db sensitivity and 6 ohm impedance. When a mint pair came up for sale locally, I jumped on them. But the label on the back of these state 91 db and 4 ohms. They must have changed the design somewhere along the line...should I be looking for more power/current or should I think about a more sensitive speaker like the Quartet?
