Coytee
Ive seen amps that are designed for a specific tube for example, 2A3, KT88. Ive seen the thread about swapping out KT88s for the KT90s (which I have done) and Ive also seen references to a KT100 (?) Is there a dedicated amp design made FOR the KT90, or 100? If so, what if any benefit from that verses the one designed for the 88? The reason I ask this is, my Jolida (502) is evidently designed with the 6550 in mind, or perhaps the KT88. When I was talking to them they backed away a bit in their comfort zone about me using the KT90.. unless you might be in the room to turn amp off if something gets out of control was the gist of their reply. So, that had me wondering, just what amps ARE the KT90 well suited for?
