Will an RC-10 work OK with a RF-35 system?

Hello,

A newbie here. I am interested in getting the RF-35 Home Theater system but the dimensions of the center channel won't fit the TV stand that I recently bought. There is an 18" wide center shelf that the RC-10 would fit nicely into. The RC-10 is only 75 watt whereas the reat of the RF-35 system is 125 watt. If not, are there any other centers that will work?

Hmmmmmmm....They would work....but not be the best sounding solution....

you want the timbre...to match the mains....which would mean using the RC35....so they have the same tweeter horn...and then voices will sound the same as they pan L to C to R....

Good luck

I wouldn not go with less than the rc-25s, and even the you will likely find some diialogue difficult to understand. In many ways your center speaker is the most important when watching movies, so you really don't want to short yourself there if you can help it. Also, in many movies dialogue pans from one maie speaker across the center speaker to the other speaker. If they aren't timbre matched, you will notice every time the dialogue pans, which can be distracting. Obviously it is up to you whether these issues are important enough to think about switching TV stands.

Good luck with your HT system, I hope this was helpful.

Thanks, The 3 TV stands I'm looking at are:

I've got the HLP6163 Samsung DLP so I need a 60" or wider stand. The RC-35 is 23.5" wide, so if placed in the center of a 60" wide stand,it wouldn't leave enough room to put components on either side. The second shelf should be able to hold 3 components, sat. reciever, HT reciever, DVD/CD player. The stands are expensive enough. I'll have to take time to think it over.
