SilverSport
Is the riser on the B model Klipschorns there for any reason other than style? Would that riser "separate" the squawker and tweeter from the bass bin enough to make any difference? I am thinking of upgrading my 1984 "C" model KHorns and was wondering if other than for visual effect, does the riser perform a function? Thanks, Bill
D-MAN
It is just a cosmetic device, it has no effect on the sound other than raising the top horns by about 1". The "B" model cost $50 bucks more (and added a few more pounds weight). DM
Dylanl
I always wondered why Klipsch did this seeing that the horns are rather high with the C. The 1" riser only makes them higher. If you ever get a chance stand up and listen to your horns and see if it does not sound a little better than with your butt on the couch. This applies unless you are well over 6'
D-MAN
It's just a marketing device - but it certainly worked, didn't it?! Better WAF. Many more B models sold than C's or D's. Anyone's wife or girlfriend could tell you why! {edit} interestingly, I also chose to employ a riser on my design, just like a B model! There ya go! Dylanl
Oddly enough my wife like the C over the B. Go figure?
