keeters
I am building a home theater and I have a pair of RB-25's and an RC-25 center channel. I need two (+ sub) more speakers to finish my 5.1 setup. I use the system equally for music and movies and will also be adding a SACD/DVD-A player. My question is this, would I be better served to purchase a pair of RF-25's for my mains or to purchase another pair of RB-25's + a subwoofer to use as the mains? Thanks, Brad
Colin
GET A GOOD SUB FIRST. The depth of movies and music, even with only two channels, is better served than the paltry surround effects.
CECAA850
Floorstanders are no sub-stitute for a good sub. They don't go low enough and don't get the LFE channel. You will loose out on the .1 of the 5.1. There is nothing wrong however with floor standers AND a sub.

colterphoto1
What CECA said. I would add that since you're adding a sub, stay with your other 4-5 mains being as close design-wise as possible. In other words, okay to use RB's for the other two mains. They don't have to be bigger for HT, unless you really want killer 2ch sound as well. I like my 5xCornwall setup.
