Zen Traveler
This is an excellent DVD-Audio. The transfer in 5.1 is phenomenal and is a must have for British Rock and Roll Fans. The famous single "Bang a Gong (Get it on)," sounds wonderful with those low bass notes. If it has been some time since you listened to the album it definitely will bring back memories. I popped in the CD version for fun and I have to say IMO, DVD-Audio is a definite improvement! There is also a video of "Bang a Gong," with a piano player who surely must be Elton, although I didn't see him on the credits. Good luck on finding it though--After someone recommended it to me I had to drive on the far side of Dallas to pick it up. Well worth the trip. I don't listen to much 2 channel music (hard to justify buying all of these speakers if I did) but I couldn't get the 192/24 stereo version to play--only 96/24. If anyone has this, and can get it to play, please post.
SteelerFan
Yeah that is Elton John, I've seen that video myself. That song reminds me of a terrible crush I had on a girl way back during my sophmore year in HS.
Zen Traveler
I stopped in at Bestbuy on Sunday to see if there were any new DVD-A audio titles. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. They moved the DVD-A/SACD section to a more obscure place and shrunk the dwindling selection--Not a good sign. I am going to visit other locations today and see if I can keep hope alive...
