Hello All,

Well I finally sprang for a new receiver. Went from a 2001 model HK AVR510

to a 2004 Model HK AVR430. I was also looking at the Denon 2805 and Marantz SR5500 I liked the sound of the HK with Klipsch so I decided to stick with them.

My question will I notice a difference in sound music wise and or in Home Theatre?

They are simualr the 430 has more features and is much newer.

AVR430 = 7 X 65 watts per channel ( 2 X 85 watts stereo mode )

AVR510 = 5 X 75 watts per channel ( 2 x 85 watts stereo mode )

I hope I made a good choice. The HK and Klipsch seem to make a good combo.

Thanks,

PS also.. Is this too much receiver for my speakers? or is there never too much :)

Hi:

Can't comment specifically since I can't compare, but I have driven the HK AVR430 for over a year now, with Academy center, four Forte, and KG2 rears, and I love it. I don't cruise much below the -20dB point on the dial, and the power is quite sufficient. The HK unit is sonically clean and full of detail, I am glad I chose it. Have fun!!

I have an avr630 on a rf5/rb5 setup and it sounds very nice compared to several other brands(with more supposed power) hooked to the same.I can't think of a reason you should not be very happy w/the 430.
