dr-dezibel Posted April 22, 2005 Share Posted April 22, 2005 There are thousands of preamps out there so there's no single "best" preamp for the Heresys. I would suggest one with tone controls as 9 out of 10 CDs sound poor. A Quad 34 served me well for a few years. It has a very nice tone control system with a "tilt" switch for tone balance and a bass lift which are very useful because you can adjust the sound in very fine steps to your liking.
