Rob_S
Due to falling foul of the upgrade bug (must....resist....more....Klipsch), I've got a Denon AVR-981 receiver that I no longer need. I bought this locally about a month ago. It's my understanding that the 981 is the same thing as a 2801, just rebadged for sale at places like Sears. Have receipt, remote, original box, etc. $425 OBO. I'll pay shipping, handling, and insurance. Lower 48 states only. Product specs are here. Mail me if you're interested. Cheers. Rob_S
Ha! Well I still haven't got anything to replace the Polks at the rear. I picked up the KSC-C1 that I told you about, another Acurus A100X3 (at $389 I couldn't pass it up) and a Parasound AVC-1800 for pre/pro duties. I've (the significant other) decided to go smaller on the rears so another set of Quartets is out. The s.o. has this funkified idea of where they should go so I was thinking maybe some SS-1s, RS-3s, or KSP-S6s might give me some flexibility with placement. What do you think? I did see what looked like a nice pair of KG 2.5s on ebay but I'm not sure how they'd fit with the Cattywhompus Speaker Placement Idea From Hell (CSPIFH). myram
From what I have been told, the SS-1's won't really be able to keep up with your fronts. You would be better off with the RS-3's or RS-7's, the KSP-S6's are just too damn much money......LOL. I am looking at upgrading my rear surrounds......to either all KG 1's or keeping my KG .5's and adding a pair of RS-3s. Rob_S
You know, I once thought there was an end to this process. I should have known better.
