Tis the time of year I dread again. Summer is in. Carpets and sound are out. bugger bugger bugger.

Long time till September. What am I going to do?

In the meantime I just listened to the greatest singer of all time - The Great Carusso!

Sadly the recording is everything you would expect from the year 1920 (he died in 1921). Sounds like he is singing from very far away into a microphone he made himself - out of old toilet rolls.

He might have been the greatest singer of all time - but you would never know from this.....

Not having one of my better audio days. Maybe I will listen to Coltrane's Blue Train and pretend to be Allan for a while....

Naaa....too many records I still havent played. Bugger Coltrane - although Gershwin might well get a look in later. Sound is not going to be good.
