DrWho Posted May 27, 2005 Share Posted May 27, 2005 You might wanna try reading this article first: http://www.ethanwiner.com/acoustics.html The effectiveness of a bass trap is mostly dependant on its thickness...on the order of 1/4 the wavelength of the lowest frequency (longest wavelength). I see no reason to go about using a cylindrical trap when you can just build a triangle into the corner and take up the same amount of room space (while also making a more effective trap). Although these are often referred to as "bass traps," even the largest tube models are not very effective below about 100 Hz, and the smaller ones become ineffective much higher than that. Yet there wasnt much difference at the mix position, only the corners! Figure 8 I wish corner traps would work, I cant use my MiniTraps no room and no free wall space.
