Marshall1
I just bought the SF-3, SC-3, SS-3, and the KSW-12. I am moving into a new house and I am wondering one how to place the SS-3's. In my new living room. There is no back wall, the ceilings are 9 feet high, and the side walls are not equidistance from the seating area. I am thinking about placing the speakers on the side walls and using the reciever to equilize the sound. One speaker will be about 6 feet to the left of the seating area, and the other would be about 12 feet. Would this sound OK, or should I put them in the ceiling? Guest Anonymous
Ceiling. Use omnimount ceiling mounts (www.omnimount.com).
Firme
That is almost the EXACT situation I am facing when I move. I see my only option as rear-ceiling, as I would never try to set one surround twice the distance as the other. Before mounting ANYTHING though, I plan on testing the sound accoustics, as nothing would be worse that drilling hole and putting up mounts, only to find it sounds horrible or off. I am also going to try a set of Klipsch bookshelf's I have laying around to see if they do better from the rear-ceiling than the wide dispersion speakers.
