To much bass for sub?

I am playing some IASCA songs that they use to test cars, for SPL

One is just a cycles test, 360 cycles down to 10 cycles..

Well around 70 cycles or so..... It starts getting extreme..... sounds like the sub is gasping for air, and it blows out major air.

Not sure if it will hurt it or not... but I would like to know.

I got it set on the little white dot BTW.

These test and songs are ment for cars, with Multiple 10- 15 inch woofers, running 100-1000+ watts.

well. that seems like a crazy way to check out teh bass cause it could really mess them up. if you did not blow anything then you are ok. but for further testing, use HT cd's or Lucas testers you can find on networks like Napster or Audio Galaxy and other P2P setups. If everything sounds ok right now, it is ok, just don't do that again... cwm1.gifcwm1.gif

lol

I am running one of them right now

I have my computer Main vol at 75% and winamp at 80%

I have my Promedias amost all the way up.

I have to turn the sub controls all the way down, so not to hear anything weird.

It is some insane *** bass. The ammount of air pushed out of that little port is INSANE!!!

EVERYONE

get on Morphous www.musiccity.com and search under audio, for IASCA

Get the song called Do you like the Pressure

its awesome

Just DO NOT!! I repeat DO NOT!! turn your subwoofer up!

About blowing the sub, after a lot of full volume use, if your limiter is working, you can't blow it. About the gasping for air around 70, the sub doesn't have flat response, so that is probably about as loud as it gets. And the sub is meant to blow major air. Try putting a piece of paper against the port when the bass is playing at full volume.

i really liked morpheus... but it only worked once, on all three computers i have tried, window 98, ME, 2000. ohwell, maybe i need to get a different version.

uh.. err... the paper thing...

i was listening to Wyclef (of course) the song Gone Till November when all of a sudden my sub made the most terrible noise, i thought it died... it was sheet of notebook paper that was being sucked and blown at the same time.
