WMcD
From time to time there are questions here about the use of a Variac to address problems with old power supply capacitors. Attached to the next frame is a short piece from a ham magazine regarding the technique. Gil
WMcD
It is interesting that specific voltages and currents are suggested. Reforming the cap may take over night. Variacs are not particularly suited for units with tube rectifiers, but a variable D.C. supply can be used in any case. JJkizak
My opinion this is rediculous. There are always some substitute caps that can be found. The amount of time messing with this could be spent inventing the wheel. (It's full of the moon so I am very caustic). JJK
