artto
Heads up turntable owners, especially Linn LP12 or Thorens type owners, and particularly those using Decca London or Grado phonograph pickups on those kinds of turntables. Since acquiring a Decca London Jubilee pickup last year I had been experiencing major noise problems, particularly 60Hz hum. The really odd thing was this hum only showed its face when the platter was on the flywheel & was at its maximum along the radial centerline of the platter. Solution: The Origin Live DC motor & power supply. This took all of about 30 minutes to install on the Linn. Even the Standard upgrade is a major improvement. And even more curious is that all the propaganda on their website is true! How this motor & power supply affect the sound quality as it does is beyond me, all I know is it works 100% as advertised. So for a little more than $350, delivered to my door from the U.K., I think its a bargain. In the not too distant future Ill be moving the Standard upgrade over to my Thorens & get the no-holds-barred Ultra upgrade for the Linn. http://www.turntable-power-supply.com/index.htm http://www.turntable-power-supply.com/turntable-motor_versions.htm
