hard drive crash

First off,if the hard drive spinns and the read heads work, you can use OnTrack to recover data.takes time but works great.

Second if the hard drive does not spin or you hear CLICK CLICK this means the read heads(arm assembly)is faulty.Mechanical problems no software will get the data for you.

In this case the hard drive has to be taken to a recovery center, they open the drive, remove the platters and mount them on a recovery unit.Get the data back for you.It is very rare the data is really lost.Unless the drive was spinning and you used a sledge on it.
