ARPRINCE
I was looking to get a Sony 5 disk DVD/CD/SACD player and ended up ordering the Sony upconverting DVD model DVP-NS70H. As soon as I receive this unit, I'm planning to use my current DVD player (SLV-D560P) as my dedicated CD player instead. My questions is, is it better to use the COAX DIGITAL OUT rather than the AUDIO OUT for this purpose? TIF
MrMcGoo
The anwer depends on your setup. If your receiver/processor has better DACs, then you should use a digital cable to make the transfer. You will get bass management and time alignment be allowing your processor to decode the CD. Some DVD players have excellent DACs and also allow bass management and distance settings. Hence, you probably should try it both ways. In my own case, my receiver has the best DACs in my system and the best processing as well, so it is an east decision. ARPRINCE
Thanks for the info. I hava a Yamaha RXV1500 so I think I will stick with the digital output.
