ACDCRB25
Hey everyone, I have a DV-45A DVD player connected too a VSX-815K (using cheap rca cables). I have the Rca's connected from 2chan audio out into Front In (DVD/LD) on the receiver... and the sub/center connected too their corresponding places as well (I do not have anything hooked up too the front outputs on the 45-A only the 2ch out. When I play the source as surround using Hotel California's menu, it works and plays at 96/24 but when I goto 2ch (stereo) It doesn't play and the display shows 192/24.... Can you guys help me figure out the problem? At this moment I'm thinkin I have it wired up wrong or my receiver might not be able to handle the signal (DVD-A 192khz/24bit)
wstrickland1
lol, I am listining to mine RIGHT NOW as I type and it won't play in 2 channel, and I PROMISE I have everything wired correctly. I'm running a Denon DVD 2900 and it plays everything. I don't know whats up but I sure wish the 2 channel would play
Brucevtx
I also have a Pioneer DV45a. Make sure the 45a menu is set to play 2 channel audio, as well as the Hotel California DVD-A menu. The 45a gives you choice of 5.1 or 2 channel stereo in the setup menu. I had mine set for 5.1 and tried to play a two channel SACD on it and it wouldn't play until I set it up for two channel. ACDCRB25
I have went through all the menu's (Initial Setup AND DVD-A disc menu's) and it still doesn't work, for the record I think that the 2ch output your thinking of only works or pertains too SACD's not DVD-A (The DVD-A options I found pertain too converting too PCM or whatnot which I have not) I'll verify and edit my post after supper. Awesome.. so it's the disc itself and not my system/setup... good I am truly impressed with the quality of the audio in Surround mode, sure it's only 96 and not 192 but it's amazing 24bit audio is nice to hear. Can anyone else recommend good classic songs on DVD-A or SACD that are like hotel california?? Or like ACDC (I know metallica has a SACD but it's hard to get)... preferabbly if the audio comes in 192khz and is available at futureshop or online at futureshop. ACDCRB25
Update: A Pioneer Tech came down from Toronto too the Pioneer/Klipsch store in my city to troubleshoot this problem with Hotel Calif. I was having, and the results are in: He proclaimed that the problem is with the DISC itself, hardly any discs whether they say it or not will play 192khz. This disc is no exception. My hardware as far as the Pioneer Tech. said will defnitly play a disc in 192 if the disc has that format, Hotel California says it does... but it's basically false advertising (it has the menu's and all, but it won't play it). Edit: Now that I know this problem is solved, any good rock/music that relaxes you in 192khz that you could recommend?
wstrickland1
Fleetwood Mac Rumours plays great in 2 channel
wstrickland1
also Foriegner(1st album), Queen, the Game (although this is superb in surround) and Night @ the Opera. Back to the Rumours in 2-channel, I have to physically check to see if the center isn't playing on my system. Stevie Nicks' vocals are remarkable.
