In this HT in a Box (i know a bad i dea, not buying it just walked upon it...) it is claimed to go to 50KHz, first of all, can't you only hear up to 20KHz and would'nt that make your ears bleed.... I do not understand this, please explain! cwm20.gif

I think (there he goes again) that there is a belief/theory/hope (whatever) that even if we can't hear them, we can feel them. Similar to just as the human ear cannot hear the low bass frequencies much below the mid-teens (hz, not age), we can feel them which adds to the overall experience.

that is what i figured. so, then, in theory, i could say my Synergy 6 Series HT goes from 24Hz-300KHz, so high that no instrucment can detect it, but the human body can feel it when wrpped in aluminum foild and secured to teh tweeter using Hofy's duct tape mounting system.

In the October 2000 Stereophile, John Atkinson did a very thorough evaluation of whether recording capture any energy above 20kHz, and if so what benefit there might be to reproducing that very high frequency content. The entire article (which makes for very fascinating reading) is available in their on-line archives here:
