Stacking Equipment

Hey all, I just got my Rotel Rmb 1095 and Rsp 985 in today and don't have a chance to set it up yet. Man the 1095 is heavy! This is my first time going separates. I was wondering, is it ok to stack the 985 on top of the 1095? Would putting fans on top of the 985 while its on the 1095 help? Or I should separate them and give the 1095 more room and put the fans directly on 1095. Thanks all.

Good advice Bill, for just about any amplifier...

I have preferred to fan cool passive amplifiers (especially tube amps)

with 1 or 2 large diameter, slower RPM muffin fans which will move alot of air but with lower noise.

Another unit that I would like to explore for this use, but with which I have not had hands on experience, is the crossflow format fan available for use in the Coolermaster Stacker computer case. This is available for about $25 from NewEgg. This may be a good ventilation unit to explore for good air volume(cfm), low noise level and horizontal placement. Just an idea...
