Earle Decker
I just bought a single 2.2 on ebay and just have 1 question about it. Should I postion it upright or on its side like a conventional center channel speaker. The mains are 4.2's. My reciever is a Denon AVR 3200. The reciever just powers the center and the surrounds. I B&K Ref 4420 amp powers the fronts. Thanks for your help Earle
Earle Decker
One more thing. I might be in the market for a matching B&K mono amp in the near future to power the center channel. I would then use the Denon 3200 as the pre/pro, and to power the rears. Could someone suggest a pre/pro for under a $1000, because im sure a 2nd 2 channel amp is not far behind. 4977
I would just try the speaker positioned both ways and take it from there. As far as Pre/Pro you can get a Marantz AV560 for under $1000.00. I used a AV550, which is the same as a 560 without dts, for a couple of years with no problems. An added benefit of the Marantz is that it comes with the RC2000MKII remote. I am currently using a Parasound AVC 1800 Pre/Pro That I bought for just over $1000.00. I prefer the sound of the Parasound but the Marantz is easier to use.
mwiener
Earle, I used to have that speaker. I positioned it like a regular center. Keeping the tweeters from the mains and center at the same height is ideal. The normal center placement is a little closer to keeping all tweeters aligned in most setups. Mike.
