gally1998
I just purchased the KHW-5 in-wall speakers and can't find anyone that carries the new construction rough-in bracket. Does anyone out there know where I can find them? Thanks!
ironwoods
Hi, it appears that they should've been included in the kit, although they're termed "Frame". Or are you thinking about something that goes in before the drywall goes up? Were these purchased NIB? What happened in 1998?
gally1998
Hey ironwoods! Yes, they were new. I've got the frame, but I'm looking for a bracket that mounts between the wall studs before the drywall goes up. The frame would then mount to the bracket. I see brackets for other manufacturers on ebay, etc., but nothing for Klipsch. The Owner's Manual shows a bracket and refers to it as "Included in Rough-in Kit Carton," but I can't find any reference to a Rough-in Kit on the website. Do you know if any installers would carry them? Thanks! Oh, and my kids (twins) were born in 1998.
ironwoods
I can't see what this bracket would do, that the included "dogs" won't. Unless you want to fire them up for the drywall doods. Possibly other speakers may need what you describe? The only foresite that I see in this instance, would be to tape the speaker wire at the approximate height to a stud, so as to avoid having to fish it out after the drywall is up. Although this can be fun. [sn] I've installed a pair of in-walls(post construction), and although they're not Klipsch [] , appear similar to how they're held in place. Jeff Matthews
Why not use wood? Just cut it to size and screw in the frames to it.
