I have a pair of Klipsch Heresy, These

are a great sounding 12"3 way horn loaded system. Iam going to be used

for DJing mostly 70s- 90s Classic rock,

Jazz & Dance music For a 40+ crowd(clean sound with some punch is needed)

These are Heresy1's 1977 model with

Ev T-35 tweeter ,K-55 Altlas P4v midrange driver 11"X4" horn and CTS 12" woofer . The response is 50hz to 18khz 98db@1w1m. I want to add two subs under theses, The box's I have are 27.5" H x18"Wx16"D .75" thick MDF (MCM's 555-2805) will be guted & new fronts, I can not go any bigger on box

I need to be able to carry this system.

Let me know you Best 15" Driver match an how to tune the box's.

I can see why you'd like to a some subs for Punch if your DJ'ing... as the Heresy do roll very early.

3.6ft3 internal volume each... and given you are looking for punch

(40-60Hz) you may consider building a pair of sealed subs. They

are more flexible when it comes to enclosure size than vented subs.

What amplifier are you going to be using with these and what is your budget?

Hi Rob,

I have A BGW 7000 Stereo Power amp , output is about 265w rms per ch @ 8ohms Trying to keep my load lite could I run these Passive ( The Subwoofer crossovers feeding the Heresy mid/hi pass of 60Hz up) or active with the BGW 7000 amp driving the Subs and a QSC mx700 stereo power amp @ 120 w rms per ch driving the Heresy's on the top.

Got about a $650.00 buget ( Any mods needed for my Heresy's ex: woofer, caps)

Thanks Rob

3.6 cu ft is gross, not the net volume. Net will be a little less than 3 cu ft with a big port and a big driver.

Use your two amps and bi-amp. You will need an electronic crossover. This is the driver to use.

This is one of the best sounding crossovers.

A 24CX-4 is good too, same thing but four channel or stereo tri-amp capable.

Buy the 6th order plug-in filter board from TDM, Fc=35hz, Q=2

The box requires two 4" dia ports 14-1/2" long. The sub will be 97dB/W, an 8 ohm load, and be 3dB down at 33.6hz

I could also modify an Ashley for you (2nd best), or a Rane AC22 (a distant 3rd).

Play with the crossover point, you'll probably end up around 150hz. Save a few bucks back for crossover mods to the Heresy.
