TheSoundBroker
As I'm planning a room of decent size (about 29 x 17 x 9), I thought this Danley unit might be HUGE overkill. But looking at the spec sheet this afternoon, it looks like the small footprint might work well behind millwork. Looking at the picture, it appears that it is ported out the bottom, correct? If so, this might be imminently doable. What amp would mate well with this beast?? Chris Amp wise...a good solid 500-1k amp (mono) works well. Crown K1/K2. I'm gonna fool around with a Behringer Pro amp (dirt cheap) for giggles and grins. Danley is also gonna do a powered version with one of the B&O digital amps...speaking of which, there is also a new Flying Mole 500 w/ch digital amp that is silent and fits in a 1U rack space they are showing at CES...maybe a good candidate! Oh, and yes...the Danley is ported out the front. The tapped horn design allows for a lot of flexibility...it can even be put up in the ceiling between joists or in an adjacent room space, vented out the front. Oh...and just to stir the pot...that 125 Db at 20 hz measurement...that was measured outside...in free air. Giggle...[]
Scp53
WOW. btw, I think you meant 25hz, but still, non the less, very impressive. do you happend to know at what distance that was at and with what distortion(Im guessing that measurement had <10% THD?)? scp53
