aab3rd
My video signal is terrible comming from my (free)cable. I have a signal booster on it in my HT room but it still does not pick up the upper chanels really clearly. What kind of meeter do I need to test the signal strength so I can see if I need more overall boosting or get one with "tilt" on it boost the upper chanels only. Also, where can I get one. I tried RatShack.com but I could not find one. Any help would be appreciated.
TheEAR
When you say that you dont get the upper channels well this could mean you need a decoder box.Sometimes just boosting the sugnal is not all,you need a decoder(descrabbler box). I may be wrong on this, anyone with other ideas? TheEAR(s) Now theears
aab3rd
EARs Thanks for the reply, but I really did not give ya'll (Tennessee term) all the info. The signal is somewhat OK on a TV in our kitchen with a shorter run. The cable upstairs is what is a lot worse. It is not unbearable with a booster on it now just before the TV but it could be better. There are only two TVs on the cable in our house, but our line comes off a three way splitter for our house and the house next door. Also, downstairs The Movie Chanel (ch2) comes in fine but upstairs it has a lot of squiggly white lines in it. This is why I want a signal tester and then a booster geared for how much boost I need upstairs.
