whatever55
I would like some input... I have a pair of RF-7's and an RC- 7 as a 3rd channel. Right now I feed it with a Pioneer sx-1980. What would be a good tube amp ? Thanks
mike Belgium
Here you can see that the RF5 just needs 9watts to have an spl of 113db

leok
For quiet to moderate listening, SET works very well. I use a 3.5W 2A3 design and 8W 300B designs are available. For something you can feel as well as hear, and generally louder listening you'll probably want something using push-pull output. In that case I would recommend a design that has a "triode mode" option. Power is determined by how loud you listen. In any case, I strongly recommend you make sure the amp has 4 Ohm output capability and use that output. The 4 Ohm output will handle the RF-7s impedance swings better that a higher impedance (as in 8 Ohm, for example) output "tap." Leo
