  1. I prefer the voltage output aswell for the tweeters. the highs are a bit to soft with the current output and voices are not so lifelike.
  2. what the hell. I think it's gonna be a ceilingmount!
  3. Anyone sugestion how to build a projectorplatform that comes out the ceiling with a push on a electricboton?
  4. My RF5's only need 9 watts to achieve an SPL of 113db and that at the lowest impedance of 3.4ohm. So i don't think you need much amplifier power at all. any decent amp can deliver 3.4 ohm impedance at such a low wattage of 9watt. Altough i run them with a sunfire cinema grand 5x225watts.
  5. You Americans always think bigger is better. Funny!
  6. Here you can see that the RF5 just needs 9watts to have an spl of 113db
  7. But two RSW12, better then one RSW15
  8. if your main speakers go to 32hz and you wanna hear lower registers also than you must use a sub and set the crossover of your processor at 40hz. Your subwoofer is especialy made voor those low frequencies thus mostly he will do that better than mainspeakers.
  9. So if you now set your surround speakers at small and the crossover for the surrunds at 40-60 or 80 the bass that the surrounds can not handle will go to your mains at that crossoverpoint;
  10. If you don't have a subwoofer you must set your mains at large and choose NO SUB in your menu. Now your mains play the hole spectrum and are going as low as your speakers can. It's as simple as that!
  11. i have an harman kardon avr5000 as a second soundsystem. when you set your mains at large they play below 40hz. when you set your mains as small you can choose at what crossovers setting your sub will take over (60hz, 80hz, ...) the low frequencies wich your mains can't handle. So in your current setup you have choosen to let play your mains frequencies till 40hz and lower than that your sub takes over. Which isn't a bad setup.
  12. that's exactly what i was planning to do. i think two other rear channels are just a nice feature in conjunction to better bassresponse.
  13. A 10inch speaker is to big to produce midrange sound. you will always have a gap between the high and low frequencies. i gues that's the reason why i found the rf7's sound boomy when i auditioned them. Maybe this is why they now build they flagship speaker with 3 x 8 inch speakers as they do midrange frequencies better. It's also so that with smaller bassdrivers you can have cleaner bass.
  14. DrWho, Thanks for the good advice. I can only make my room smaller the length must stay the same. so what would be the right dimensions? Thanks mike
  15. You can allways buy an US model and buy a transformer separatly that transforms 220v into 110v. By the way i am intersested in one of youre RSW12's as i live in Belgium i have 220v
  16. Why don't you go for the thx subwoofers? Have more pictures?
  17. It is normal that the rf5's are not so powerfull as the rf7's due to the larger bassdrivers. This will especialy be true when you use them whitout a subwoofer. But i think that when you compare the two speakers (rf5-rf7) each with the crossover set at 80hz and the same subwoofer there will be not a hughe difference as the subwoofer is in that case doing all the bassfrequencies. Although that's what i think but i might be serieus wrong?
  18. Are the rf7 such a huge difference against the rf5. When i heard them at my local store i found them a little boomy. that's the raisen why i just want to at a second rsw12 to my rf5 system. I think the two rsw12 can do more than the rf7's. altough the boomynes of the rf7 have maybe somtehing to do with roomacoustics.
  19. Can someone describe me the sounddiference between a 5.1 setup and 7.1 setup. Is this a huge upgrade? I am planning to upgrade my system, due to the cost i have to decide 2 new surround backspeakers or a second RSW12. what would you guys do?
  20. Scooter, I am verry intersested. My emailadres: mike.van.berghen@telenet.be My videosetup is a benqprojector and projectra screen 2m by 1.32 m Mike
  21. I'am planning to setup a dedicated cinema room. The room will be 20.99 foot by 15.91 foot and 7.87 foot high. Can someone tell me if those are opitmal dimensions?
  22. i was wondering what would be the best upgrade i could do know. Buying a second RSW12 or buying second pair of RS7 for backsurrounds. My current setup : front: RF5 center: RC7 back: RS7 one RSW12 Processor: NAD T163 Poweramp: Sunfire Cinema Grand DVD25 Harman Kardon My listening room is 1550 cufeet
