Tony Reed
I'm about to start some speaker building projects that I've been putting off way too long. Since almost everything I have is Klipsch Oak Oil, I want my projects to match. I know that the finished product is smiliar to a Minwax "golden" oak, but what did Klipsch start with, Red Oak or White Oak? Tony
oldtimer
This might sound stupid but all I know for sure is that it is Arkansas Oak. I would guess that it is not red oak, just by looking at my Forte IIs, but it is hard to tell. You could ask Klipsch directly.
Duke Spinner
the grain looks too coarse for Red Oak .... I've only seen one set of K speakers in Oak that I liked... tuned4lifes new COL's the rest including my Chorus and Cornwalls, have pretty terrible figuring

colterphoto1
It's White Oak, I've seen several sets of factory finished OO speakers. Definitely NOT red oak, that's more like you see in flooring and furniture that has darker grain pattern.
